Create A $1 Trial Order In Infusionsoft
I'm going to show you how to create a $1 trial order in Infusionsoft.
We're going to create a seven day $1 trial that then upgrades to a subscription product. Again, the subscription or the trial period in terms of days or period or the price can all be changed. You just literally need to change the different elements as we create this campaign.
What we need to do, there are basically two steps to this. We need to create our initial product in Infusionsoft, which is our $1 trial, and then we need to create a subscription for, let's say, it's a $1 subscription.
We're going to create this as a seven day $1 trial, so $1 subscription. We go into the Infusionsoft campaign builder and we're going to call this $1 Trial, whoops, $1 Trial for Seven Days, just going to save that and going to drag a canvas out. We're going to drop a goal out here, and we're going to come back to that in just a sec.
I go back into my account again here, just bear with me. What we want to do first is create a $1 trial product, so let's have a look here. I might have created a $1 trial, let's have a look, $1, no. I'll just create a $1 product that leads into a $1 trial for a monthly subscription after seven days. Okay, so we're going to create that for $1 and let me just save that.
First, Create Both Products In Infusionsoft For The Trial
Then, we're going to create a subscription now for a $1 subscription.
We're going to create another product, add a product, and we're going to call this $1 Gold Monthly and going to save that. Going to create that for $1 dollar, and we're going to create as a subscription only. It's going to be $1 and we're going to add that.
You can see here now we've created our subscription product and then we've created a $1 front-end product, so we're going to save that.
Next thing we need to do is we're going to have to create what we call an action set to add them into the $1 trial.
Infusionsoft Action Sets Are Incredibly Powerful
Infusionsoft Action sets, if you've not used them before, are really, really powerful tools that we can use to do some very, very clever automation in the background. If we go into CRM settings, you can see our action sets. Create an action set and we're going to call it $1 Trial Subscription. Then we want to create an order. We don't want to create any free trials, and we just want to save that now.
Trial Offers Work Exceptionally Well
Now, we're going to edit the configuration.
We're going to put in our subscription plan, possibly if you were setting up a membership site. This would charge our $1 monthly, every month. Then, we're going to add it and come to the bottom and press save and then save again. We've created our action set now, so we go back into our campaign. When someone buys our specific product, which is our $1 trial, $1 seven days trial, save, so what happens is someone will be charged $1 straight away.
Then, basically in this campaign, obviously, I'm not going to create the relative tags and things which you would with a normal order, but what we would do is we would create a timer, day timer, and going to create that to seven days, any day at… Let's do that at 12:15 AM.
Then, we're going to drop our action set in here to trigger our $1 trial subscription order to fire, save, push that to draft.
Go back and see what we've done here. We've got our $1 trial product then we wait seven days to the $1 monthly subscription. Basically what this will do is, as I say on day one, they get charged one-off $1 for the actual product, front-end product. Then, after seven days, unless they've cancelled, haven't put any cancel tags in here, if they were going to cancel, obviously we could pull them out of the campaign so they wouldn't be charged.
I'm just basically showing you the set up here. We put a delay timer in, seven days, and then we run the action set to create the order, which will then start the subscription.
That's how we create a $1 trial order in Infusionsoft!
It's a really powerful way of selling products with trials. As I say, you can mix and match different price points, different trial periods, different products. It doesn't have to be a subscription product. It could be a one-off product, it could be a product with a multi-pay option, there are so many different options you can use here.
Definitely worth trying these offers out to your list if you're struggling with some cool ideas to try and generate some extra sales.
I highly recommend you look at our net promoter score set up video too.
