What Is Infusionsoft?…Here’s My Take
One of the most common questions I get asked is “What is Infusionsoft?”
Here's my take on it…
Infusionsoft is the industry’s longest-running and most powerful product, offering an all-in-one solution that provides advanced marketing and sales automation, fully customizable campaigns, and powerful app integration.
Infusionsoft helps small businesses automate and grow their sales without growing their staff.
It includes:
- CRM
- Email Marketing
- Shopping Cart
- Affiliate Marketing
- Landing Pages
- WebForms
- Reporting
- Automation Engine that ties them all together
The Infusionsoft Core…
At the core of any business, the software is a database to store the information on your prospects and customers. That database is typically called a CRM—Customer or Contact Relationship Management.
But stand-alone CRMs are dead, which is why the 800-pound gorilla in the space—Salesforce—spent $2.5 billion to acquire email provider ExactTarget, which already owned marketing and workflow automation engine, Pardot.
Having names in a CRM is just a fancy way of moving your Rolodex into the cloud.
Life-Cycle Marketing Made Simple
The purpose of having a CRM is so you can make educated, targeted, timely action and interaction with your prospects and customers.
Infusionsoft has to lead the way in empowering small businesses to do this affordably.
So you can create a free opt-in such as “Free Infusionsoft Audit” and use an Infusionsoft web form to embed that on your site.
When a visitor opts-in for that report their information and activity is saved and the report is delivered automatically and immediately with no staff involvement.
You can then create a series of follow-up or drip or nurturing steps to both further educate and qualify that prospect, including sending a “Buy Now” link such as “Since you downloaded this report you could benefit from this super-duper offer at 90% off if you order within the next 24 hours. Click here to buy.”
Now that’s just a silly example but Infusionsoft has a secure checkout feature for both order forms and storefronts so you can process sales online, automatically.
Then you can add prospects and customers to your email newsletter and send broadcasts to them.
And that’s just for starters.
You can also make landing pages, recruit and support affiliates to promote and sell for you and track their sales and commissions, store files, create opportunities to track more complex sales, and more.
Infusionsoft does have it's limitations.
Here are a few things I think Infusionsoft need to fix…
Infusionsoft Order forms – these still have a very dated look. I use Spiffy to create really sexy, mobile-optimized order forms.
Page Builder – not a versatile as other page builders such as Leadpages
